Peruvian pima cotton is prized the world over because of its silky soft feel and brilliant luster. This organic cotton is harvested by hand.It is know for its very long silky fiber which results in a beautiful silky white, superior quality fabric giving you years of sleeping pleasure.All sheets are preshrunk and available in standard sizes.Sateen is a sheeting construction that features threads that float over the top of four to seven yarns (threads) before being interlaced in the weave. Sateen is known for its sheen.These sheets are deep pocked so its easy to stretch them over mattresses and pillowtops up to 16".

Peru has the perfect climate to grow Pima organic cotton.It is hand picked outside of Lima, Peru, in 100% certified organic fields.

If all the cotton in the world were grown organically, the use of insecticides could be reduced 25 percent. In working toward that end, Coyuchi has been recognized for its role in bolstering the production of organic cotton. We've received the United Nations Second Annual Fashion Industry Award for Environmental Excellence.
Every fiber of cotton we use is produced in accordance with the standards set forth by the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM). Individual organizations handle the actual certification of cotton fiber produced in different regions: SKAL, a Netherlands-based certifier, oversees the cotton grown for Coyuchi in India. What standards must we meet in order for our cotton to be certified as organic? At the top of the list outlined by IFOAM in its Growing and Processing Standards are the following: seeds must be non-genetically engineered; insects should be controlled by methods that simulate what occurs in the natural environment, where "good" bugs eat "bad" bugs. There must also be an emphasis on keeping plants healthy- healthy plants are more resistant to infestation-fields are usually weeded by hand. Organic farms are not allowed to use any chemical fertilizers or chemical inputs, such as herbicides or other pesticides.
All of this organic cotton is grown in India by family farmers organized in cooperatives. We willingly pay premium prices to these small-scale growers for their organic cotton fiber because this encourages organic practices that protect not only the environment, but the farmers, their families, and their communities from exposure to toxic agricultural chemicals. Also, by purchasing their cotton at a better price per kilo, we help support local and economically sustainable production.

Definitions of sheeting:
Percale is light or medium weight, 200 plus thread count, made of carded or combed cotton. The weave is simple over-then-under interlacing. It is known for its crispness.
Sateen is a sheeting construction that features threads that float over the top of four to seven yarns (threads) before being interlaced in the weave. Sateen is known for its sheen.
Damask sheeting is woven on a jacquard loom and features a woven in pattern such as a stripe or check.
Flannel is a fuzzy and warm plain or twill weave, napped on one or both sides. Because of the napping process flannel may wear out sooner than percale.
Jersey sheeting is constructed of a plain knit stitch and features elasticity. Its quality is determined by the length of the component fiber and by its weight.
Care of Your Sheets
Machine wash them in warm water with biodegradable soap. Tumble or line dry. To avoid wrinkling, remove sheeting from dryer before it is thoroughly dry and hang it up. If bleach is needed, use peroxide based, non-chlorine bleach.
