Our 5-inch high wool mattress consists of 10 layers of thick Premium 100% certified Organic Wool batting and is covered with 100% Certified Organic Wool ticking. It will compress about 10% during the first 6 months of use, so we recommend sleeping all over the mattress and rotating it on a regular basis. With proper care, this mattress will last for several decades. We can refurbish mattresses after 10, 20 or 30 years upon request.

For complete breathability and greater longevity, we suggest that the wool mattress be placed on a wood slatted frame. The mattress is most comfortable in combination with our 3-inch all premium Eco Wool topper, or a 2-inch high Natural Rubber topper, or both.

This mattress can be placed on a slat foundation bed. This combination will make the mattress a little less soft in feel. It does not need to be flipped, but we recommend rotating it every four to six months to extend its life.
